Deep Cleaning Tile & Grout

Regular day-to-day or janitorial cleaning simply cannot achieve the same, dramatic results as professional deep cleaning by an experienced tile and grout professional. This is especially true of floors with textured finishes, because the pits and grooves in rough areas have a tendency to trap dirty mop water. Improper cleaning processes and the use of improper cleaners may exacerbate this problem.

Grout is porous, which means it is full of tiny holes where grit, grime, and allergens collect. Even the most aggressive mop or scrub brush cleaning can’t loosen and extract contaminants. To achieve or maintain a brand new appearance, your ceramic tile, porcelain tile, other man-made tile, and especially your grout lines must be professionally cleaned. Rockland Stone Restoration provides professional cleaning services for your ceramic and porcelain tile and grout floors, shower walls, and other surfaces, and we carry a full line of cleaners and care products specifically designed to keep your tile and grout clean.

Grout Sealing

When your grout lines are dirty, stained or discolored it makes the whole floor look bad. But how does this happen?

Sanded grout is porous and virtually anything that is spilled, including dirty mop water, accumulates on the grout and penetrates into the pores, leaving you with perpetually dirty and unsanitary floors, no matter how often you clean them. In addition, grout can become stained from the bottom of the substrate. Even the most aggressive cleaning methods will not totally remove these stains.

Professional cleaning followed by sealing of the grout lines is the solution. Clear sealer fills the grout pores and crevices preventing soils from being able to penetrate and get embedded into the grout. We provide two options for sealing your grout, clear sealer and color sealer. Clear sealer is exactly what it sounds like — a clear penetrating sealer which is applied to the grout lines, plugging the holes and preventing spills from penetrating. This is an excellent option for brand new grout or grout that still has a uniform appearance after professional cleaning.

But, what if there are permanent stains, bleached areas, or other discolorations? The ideal solution is grout color sealing.

Grout Color Sealing

Grout color sealing has many advantages over clear sealing. Uniform color is just one benefit. Color sealing gives your grout a completely consistent color, restoring a uniform appearance to your floor. Another very popular benefit of grout color sealing is that you can completely change the color of your grout to any color you want — from dark to light or vice versa.

Once your grout is color sealed, the color sealer will prevent staining and make regular cleaning much easier and more productive. Even if you spill coffee, soy sauces, ketchup, etc., these spills will not stain the grout and will clean right up. In addition, color sealer contains a constant-acting mildewcide, leaving your floors not only beautiful, but more sanitary.
